So let us think about these things in life. Let us think what has true value to us. Today has come and it will go. Whatever the experience you have had in life, had a beginning, and that Law of Beginning is its own ending. So let us direct our consciousness to a greater good for ourselves. Because I know if you will think of yourselves in a positive, constructive way, you will not have to be concerned about humanity, for you will become the living demonstration of the goodness of the worlds. In reference to your question on the evolutionary path of the Divine Spirit expressing through creation, it enters what is termed total awareness—there are many names for it—illumination, cosmic consciousness. It is on extremely rare occasions that an illumined soul returns to your earth planet. When this happens, you may, in your present understanding, term this reincarnation. In truth it is not.

I know this may seem a bit difficult at this time for you to understand, but think of it in this way. Our soul is passing through and has passed through a number of forms. It continues to express in form until such time as it reaches total awareness. When total awareness is expressed, it is the formless.

It is true that souls returning unto form have moments of this total awareness. This is only possible through what is termed the Law of Disassociation. Total awareness or illumination comes when there is no longer identification with self. And therefore it is possible, but rare while in form, to have total awareness or illumination; but because of the tendency of identification or so-called individualization, disassociation from self is very rare.

In reference to the illumined who have walked upon your earth, it is true to our present understanding that they have had a total awareness because of their great evolvement through form. They have managed to learn and to practice disassociation.

If you wish to have a greater light, then it behooves you, my children, to practice disassociation. Learn to be in form and not form. Free this created brain. Let it express itself in creation while you, your spirit, the true one, watches as you watch a play for that is creation. It shall ever be. It is frequently possible to be in a level of consciousness in which there is no light of reason because the self and self-related interests stand in the light. When thoughts are self-related they act as a shield to the light of reason — shielding the rays from reaching the conscious mind. However, when the thoughts of self and self-related interests are balanced with thoughts of another’s interest, a greater purpose, then the light of reason can and does shine upon the conscious mind. It is only when self-related interests are balanced with a higher purpose that the soul faculty of reason can be experienced.

It is the soul which is the source of reason; it does not come from something outside of ourselves. As a faculty of the soul, its effect is experienced and expressed by the mind, but it is the soul that is the source of reason.

T|~|£ GIFT 0F $£LF

Therefore, if there is to be reason expressed in the form of common sense, compromise, standing on principle, or apology, to name a few expressions, the self-thinking, self-related interests must bow to something greater. This bowing is what is referred to as the “gift of self” and it is the greatest gift we can give. It is the surrendering of our own “self” thoughts, self interests and motives which constitutes freedom from the bondage of our limited self and self-related thinking. It is when we “switch off” the mind for an instant by pausing that the light of reason shines.

PR\C£ 0F PR0CR&STIN&TION

So if you want something done that’s whole and done complete, then put the wholeness of your consciousness in whatever you do. For example, if you have a job to do, do it well and do it now. Don’t procrastinate with it. Don’t do it in a “good enough” level, because a “good enough” level is destroying your better consciousness, your own soul. You see, my friends, whatever you do in life is a revelation of your state of consciousness. And so if you’re doing a job and you don’t do it with quality, with completeness and with wholeness, you, and you alone, will pay the price. Not someone else, unless they choose to pay the price. Because it simply means that you are not putting all, the allness, the goodness, the God into whatever it is that you are doing. And that effects your consciousness; that effects your own soul evolution, my friends. And you know, we’re known by the jobs we do in life. We’re known by the company that we keep. So let us know ourselves. Let us be known for the goodness that is our divine right. And let us express total consideration.

£QU&LIT¥

Lack of quality is a lack of total consideration of our own spirit, our own soul, our own mental body, our own physical body. So whatever it is that you have to do in life, do it well or not at all. Don’t be half-hearted about your responsibilities. Don’t fit them in at your convenience. For if you do, my friends, you, and you alone, will pay the dear price for the lack of consideration of all of your own levels of consciousness. And like a great mirror, experience will come back to you and say, “Well, things are not going well for me. Things are not flowing in my life. I am in the depths of lack and limitation. Things don’t seem to work that I touch.” How can they work, my friends? We haven’t considered everything when we did it in the first place.

You know, this philosophy is a philosophy of self-awareness, of self-improvement. It is the greatest—believe me—jewel that you will ever find in God’s universe. But it’s up to you: it has to mean something to you, as individuals, to search to find the diamond of eternity that is within your own consciousness.

RETROSPECT

"What is it that man seeks in life itself that has any lasting value? What is it, the question may rise in the mind, that we really do take with us when we leave this physical dimension? My friends, all of the thoughts that you entertain, all of your emotion, and all of your attitudes are what go with us into these other dimensions. For that that is known as death is only a change, a returning of the physical form to the physical elements of which it has been composed. But the mind that brought it into being goes on with us. So let us look as we face this new year. This day let us ask ourselves honestly the question, “What has true value to my life?” And if we will, in retrospect, look for a moment backwards to those days that have gone, we can but very quickly see the values of yesterday are no longer the values that we hold today. Is there anything that we thought of value a year ago or even ten that has consistently remained with us, that is serving a purpose to help us to have peace of mind, to have the joy and the wonder of living itself?

There are few in this world today that are prepared to make the eternal journey, the inevitable journey, that we’re all going to make. And because we may be young or old matters not, for that day, my friends, is coming. It is guaranteed for all of us. And there is none of us that know the exact moment that that so-called spirit of death will visit and knock at our door. Does a man with common sense give it some thought? Surely we must at least consider a journey that we’re all destined to make, because if we do not give it some consideration, you may be rest assured, my friends, we will not, in any way, be prepared for it. Many people have many different views of what it’s going to be like when they leave this earth realm, but they don’t really give it a sensible, a logical study and investigation.

If it is true—and from these thirty-some years of communicating with these dimensions it is true to me—that we do take it with us, then let us find out today what it is that we truly have. If it is true—and it is true, I assure you—that we take our emotions, our feelings, and our attitudes with us, that those are the realms, the dimensions in which we shall live and express ourselves, then let us weigh within our minds what attitudes we have, what things we are mentally, emotionally attached to, because that’s where we’re going to find ourselves, friends. And there will be no dense, gross physical body to blind our view. We’re living in those dimensions this moment, but most of us see them not because our minds are so attached to physical substance.

In these worlds known as worlds of spirit—and many dimensions there are—our thought becomes the most important asset that we have, for things in those dimensions are created from the substance of mind-stuff. If we are not able to keep our mind, for some period of time, on one thing, then we will not be able to create the better things in those so-called other dimensions. The same principle is operating this moment, today."

THE DIVINE PRESENCE AND PRINCIPLES

What is meant in those words expanding consciousness? We understand, in this Association, that the word consciousness means God, the Divine, the Infinite Intelligence. And so it is while we are here encased in flesh that we are striving to expand our awareness of this Divine, this God, that is everywhere present. In what way, we ask the question, may we best expand or broaden our horizon, or understanding, of the Divine Presence, this Infinite Intelligence? We know that man, our mind, is, perhaps, likened unto a great computer that records all things and loses, in truth, nothing. We know that we have been programmed in our minds to accept or to reject certain things that we experience in life. And so it is that by our own volition, our own choice, and our own will we have established within ourselves a limitation, for we have established that we will accept certain thoughts and ideas and experiences and we will reject others.

How is it possible, we ask, to expand or to broaden our understanding, when we are already conditioned, from childhood on, in what to accept and in what to reject? When we consider accepting in our mind, in our thought, that good exists and expresses in all things, at all times, and in all experiences and all places, then we will become in tune, in rapport, with the good that exists in all things. For if God is God, then there is no experience, there is no place, there is no thought in which God, the Divine Intelligence, is not expressing itself.


Through a lack of understanding of the divine principle, known as creation, man has decided, within himself, what is beneficial to him and what is detrimental. With each person, those decisions, those values, change according to the experiences of each person. What we are trying to share with you this morning is the possibility of entertaining in thought what is known as good. For its opposite is nothing more than undeveloped. When we seek a greater understanding than we have so far awakened to, we will broaden our horizons, expand our consciousness, and our God will become, in our being, a universal God, a God of freedom, and a God of peace, a God that does not reject, nor a God that does not deny. My good friends, it is our rejections and our denials that cause us all of our problems.


Whatever we are seeking, again and again it has been stated, is also seeking us. And like the hands of the clock of time, every so often they meet. But because of our limited expression of the divine understanding, we reject so many things that come to our lives. We reject them because we do not understand them."

Superconscious Mind

 In reference to the superconscious, when man, having a conscious thought—and all conscious thoughts have a reacting subconscious expression or feeling—having the feeling, which accompanies the thought, releases it to what we call the Divine, to what we call a higher power, that thought rises from the conscious and subconscious levels to the superconscious. Now, the superconscious—which is our consciousness—the superconscious looks down at our conscious desire and our subconscious accepted pattern concerning that particular thought. Seeing both sides, seeing both magnetic and electric, it is in a position to make the decision which is wise for us. That is the level of consciousness of neutrality, total impartiality. It is not governed by past experience, nor is it controlled by future events. It knows, for it is the eternity itself.

And so, my friends, releasing to the Divine is releasing a thought or desire from your conscious mind, your subconscious magnetic control, into your own divinity. This is why, many times, a person has said, “I have something that disturbs me. I go to sleep on it. I awaken in the morning and the answer is there, waiting for me.” Through practice, we can do this in a moment. There is no need to take the question to bed with us at all. Ask the question—for the power of the mind to question presupposes and guarantees, no less, its own power to answer. But from what level is the answer coming? If the answer is coming from your superconscious, it is the right answer for you, because your superconscious knows. It does not have to be told. It isn’t governed and influenced by other levels of consciousness.”

ACCEPTANCE
